Welcome and Program Offerings

National Junior Basketball League (NJB) is a non profit organization founded in 1984 by Dennis Murphy Jr, a former coach at Garden Grove High School in Orange County. Dennis had a vision of a youth basketball league based on sportsmanship and player development. His goal was to create a league where boys and girls would develop Basketball fundamentals while stressing good sportsmanship and fair play. Today NJB has over 25,000 players playing in 6 states. The motto of NJB is “Everyone Wins, In NJB”.

In the Silicon Valley Section, we have over 4,000 boys and girls playing NJB basketball. If you would like to serve as a volunteer in SVNJB, and in particular your child’s Chapter, please email the Chapter Director in your local area for more information.

Programs offered are:

Division Leagues – Developmental/Competitive: 3^rd/4^th Grade for both Boys & Girls

All-Net leagues – Competitive: 5^th, 6^th, 7^th & 8^th Grade for both Boys & Girls

High School – Competitive: JV (9^th & 10^th Grades) & Varsity (11^th & 12^th Grades) Boys

Rookie Program – Basic skills development for 1^st & 2^nd Grades (limited Chapters)
