COACH / REF WINTER TIP-OFF MEETING
Officials should plan to come to the Winter Tip-off meeting if available. Here you will be able to meet with SVNJB staff, have Q&A with upcoming coaches & staff, and complete missing steps of your registration including:
- Submitting documents
- Completing payments
- Purchasing uniforms
- Pick up any additional forms, docs, or guides
S V N J B R E F E R E ETRAINING SESSIONS
Training sessions are provided for NJB officials to go over in game mechanics, positioning, and calls with one of our Referee Clinicians.
We encourage all NJB officials to attend these training sessions.We look forward to seeing you at one of the sessions listed!
TRAINING SESSIONS WILL COVER SOME OF THE FOLLOWING...
POSITIONING
Learning where officials should position themselves on the court to be able to see the court and out of the way of play.
APPLYING RULES
Learning how to apply the many rules of basketball while officiating and learn some of the unique SVNJB rules.
SIGNALS
Learning what signals are made for different situations & how/when/where to make those signals during a game.
GAME MANAGEMENT
Learning how to manage different situations, coach interactions and more that will come up while officiating.
