  • WHAT ARE COMPETITION LEVELS?

In Spring League, there are multiple levels of competition to try and provide competitive games for both advanced/skilled players and new/developing players.  We try to separate them so that everyone has a chance to compete against players relatively of the same skill level.

  • LEVELS DEPEND ON REGISTRANTS

The only way to have multiple competition levels is if there are enough teams/players to do so.  For example, if there are 20 5th/6th grade teams and 10 register Level 2, 5 register 5th Level 1, and 5 register 6th Level 1, then there would be enough to have multiple competition levels.  If 19 teams register level 2 and only 1 register Level 1 then the levels may be combined or adjusted by the league.

  • LEAGUE MAY MAKE ADJUSTMENTS

To balance competition and enhance gameplay, the league has the right to move players and/or teams between levels (and/or divisions if necessary).  This especially applies to Free Agents.  If after the Free Agent player evaluations, coaches or staff feel a player has registered in the incorrect level, a move up/down may be made to better suit the players skill level.

In regards to teams, teams may be moved up/down a competition level to attempt to have teams play against similar teams to create more competitive games.

  • WHAT IS LEVEL 1?

Level 1 is the highest competition level designated for advanced/skilled teams and players.  Example of Level 1 players would be All-Net players, skilled Divisional All-Stars, players on/from competitive AAU teams, school teams, etc.

  • WHERE ARE PRACTICES?

Practices are determined by the coach and the team.  There is a possibility practices may not be in your immediate neighborhood.

For free agents, when forming the teams we take into account where players live however we also try to balance out the skill levels of teams.

  • ARE THERE ANY POTENTIAL ADDITIONAL COSTS?

Yes, there are 2 possible additional costs for players:

    1.) PRACTICE GYM RENTAL FEES

    2.) FREE AGENT COACH STIPEND

    Read below for more info.

1.) PRACTICE GYM RENTAL FEES

Parents/Players please be advised that additional costs may be incurred if your team plans to practice inside a gym.  Unlike winter league, gym rental fees are not included within the league registration price. Not all teams choose to practice inside. During spring league, it is the responsibility of the coach/team to obtain gym space for practices. Very limited gym space will be made available by the league for teams to rent.

FOR TEAMS INTERESTED IN RENTING A GYM ON THEIR OWN:
Proof of insurance is available through the league for any team that finds a school/gym that requires it. If proof of insurance is needed, please fill out the insurance request form linked at bottom of the page.

2.) FREE AGENT COACH STIPEND

Parents/players please be advised that if a team does not have a coach, the league may have to hire a coach for that team.  For hired coaches, a coach stipend will need to be paid by the parents on the team. The stipend is to be divided among the team.

PARENTS INTERESTED IN VOLUNTEERING TO COACH:
The player (1) of the parent, family member, or friend volunteering to be the head coach, receive a registration discount and only pay for the players uniform and shirt.

If you or someone you know is interested in coaching please let us know. Have them fill out the coaches form. Click here for the coaches form.
